Sumatra Gayo Mandiri is cultivated in the Aceh Province in the north of Sumatra. The KSU Gayo Mandiri cooperative members are mainly Gayo and Javanese widows whose families fell victim to war or natural disasters. Aceh coffees are grown in shade and without any chemical aids in lush and vibrant mountains.
Coffee farmers use a traditional wet-hulled method commonly known as Giling Basah. Such process gives the coffee a unique earthy and mustiness flavor. This coffee is full-bodied, balanced, and has some delightful earthy and herbal notes.
Cupping Notes: Tangy citrus flavor, hints of cocoa and flavors of cherry tomato with earthy and herbaceous notes in the finish.
